Samsung has always been known for incorporating innovative display technology in its smartphones and the latest ones are no exception. The company has announced that its next round of flagship smartphones will be using Corning’s Gorilla Glass Victus 2, as per a press release. This new version of Victus is said to provide even more protection against damage from accidental drops on hard surfaces.

According to Corning, Gorilla Glass Victus 2 can withstand drops from up to one meter onto concrete and up to two meters on asphalt. There are several YouTube videos demonstrating the strength and durability of this new glass technology through drop and scratch tests.
The timing of this announcement coincides with Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Unpacked event, where it is widely expected that the company will unveil its new Galaxy S23 series of smartphones. So, it can be safely assumed that these new phones will be using Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
However, it is important to remember that the best way to protect your phone is to not drop it at all. So, be cautious and avoid tempting fate.
